1998 - Hoffman Center, Alexandria

In 1998 the Hoffmans were looking for a new civil engineer for a site in Alexandria near Eisenhower Avenue. Bill Zink and Bill Goldsmith presented christopher’s services and reputation and won them over.  The first project we did with them was a utility relocation plan.

Once that first plan was done and the Hoffmans were pleased with the work, (including tying a 60” storm into an existing 8×8 double box culver that was under the WMATA tracks), we designed the major roads of the area including Mandeville Lane, Swamp Fox Road, Stovall Street and an additional lane on Eisenhower Avenue.  Next came the development of the retail center at the far east side of the site.  This relationship has been maintained over the years and we have recently helped complete the development of the NSF headquarters, the adaptive re-use of the old Department of Defense Building to residential and the mixed use development of Carlyle Crossing (future location of Wegmans).
