Lou Canonico, PE

Land Use Specialist

Lou Canonico is a Land Use Specialist in christopher’s Planning & Landscape Architecture division. As such, Lou oversees the landscape architecture and land planning group, urban forestry and expert witness testimony related to condemnation cases. Lou also handles quality control/quality assurance for all of christopher. Lou joined christopher in 1984 and has a lifelong history of involvement with land development projects and issues in the Washington metropolitan area, with a strong emphasis on Loudoun County.

Lou is a past Chairman of Loudoun County’s Economic Development Commission and is past President and life member of the Northern Virginia Building Industry Association’s Loudoun Chapter. He is currently the co-chair of the Loudoun Subcommittee of NAIOP’s Government Relations Committee. He was appointed by the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors to be a member of the County’s Zoning Ordinance Advisory Group and is Vice Chair of that group.

Lou graduated from the United States Military Academy: West Point in 1972 and served 11 years of active and reserve duty with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers.
