Villages of Piedmont

Prince William County, VA

christopher is performing master planning, civil engineering, surveying and landscape architecture services to Equinox Investments for Villages of Piedmont at Leopold’s Preserve, a planned community in Prince William County, Virginia. Located in Haymarket, Virginia, this planned community has been touted by Prince William County officials as a model for preservation-oriented land planning. Villages of Piedmont committed an impressive 380 acres to open space preservation and utilizes a unique and thoughtful solution to progressive land use management, striving to find a balance between the needs of local citizens and the preservation of natural habitats.

Comprised of 493 acres and over 400 single family homes and townhomes, the Villages of Piedmont community focuses on preservation of existing natural open space, utilizing it for hiking trails, observation areas and other outdoor amenities. Project efforts are ongoing.

Project efforts include preliminary plan development, final construction plans, water and sewer plans, plats, field survey and construction administration. Coordination between the Client, Prince William County, VDOT, utility companies and other consultants was also provided. christopher also designed 5,800 linear feet of road frontage improvements along U.S. Route 15 in Prince William County, including two new southbound lanes. The two new southbound lanes will widen Route 15 from two lanes to four lanes along the frontage of the community, from the Norfolk and Southern Railway to Thoroughfare Road.
