christopher consultants provided site planning, civil engineering, stormwater management, Green Area Ratio Plan, and a Tree Preservation Plan for the 130-unit affordable housing building at the intersection of 23rd and Savannah Street in Southeast, DC.
The 2.2 acre site is being redeveloped to include a large apartment building for households earning up to 60 percent of the median family income. The building will include 65 one-bedroom apartments, 54 two-bedroom apartments, 11 three-bedroom apartments, 60 vehicular and 40 long term bicycle spaces in a below grade garage, a fitness room and a club room. The rooftop will feature solar panels while a community garden and a bio-pond will be developed in the rear courtyard.
