christopher consultants developed a site plan for a new standalone Starbucks with a drive thru located at 715 Port Republic Road in the City of Harrisonburg, Virginia. There was a desire from the end user to have a drive thru coffee location, which the Starbucks building in operation on a nearby site along Port Republic Road did not have. This new location was also in close proximity to an apartment complex that served students of the nearby James Madison University.
Along with the building itself, the plan included design of associated parking, drive thru vehicle capacity, sidewalks, and utilities necessary for use and occupancy. It also provided a two-phase erosion and sediment control plan for use during construction activities, stormwater conveyance adequate outfall analysis and narrative, landscape plan, photometric plan, and fire lane and signage plan.
christopher met with City officials to coordinate the site design in conjunction with local code, as well as a right-of-way dedication to the City for a future entrance to an adjacent JMU commuter parking lot. christopher also provided construction administration services to accommodate a reconstruction project of an adjacent gas station that involved a large retaining wall design that was in close proximity to our client’s property line.
christopher has worked on four additional Starbuck’s locations for Vertical Construction Management in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
