Ross-France, a christopher company, provided civil engineering and surveying services for a new 197,954 square foot middle school for Prince William County Public Schools (PWCPS). The site design utilized a new building prototype to accommodate a smaller, urban-sized parcel of land. Included in the design of the new school site is a storm sewer system design, water and sewer utility design, water system modeling to provide fire flows for building protection and athletic field design. Engineering consultation, design and coordination with the owner, and project architect have been provided throughout the project.
The site was located within the Potomac Shores Development Community, which required planning and coordination with the developer to ensure that the site would be available for construction and meet the desired schedule of PWCPS. The developer was responsible for providing PWCPS a pre-graded pad site based on engineering plans prepared for PWCPS.
