christopher provided our full suite of services to Capstone Collegiate Communities during the entitlement of The Flats on University, a six-acre site in the City of Fairfax. The project provides off-campus student housing for up to 825 George Mason University students with easy access to campus and downtown. To minimize negative visual impacts to the community, the parking garage and service facilities are focuses within the site. This allows for an attractive streetscape along the public streets with wider sidewalks, landscape plantings and seating areas. christopher is also leading the detailed landscape and hardscape design for the outdoor amenity spaces including a pool, spas, fire and water features, summer kitchen and an activity deck. Additionally, the project emphasizes multi-modal transportation options including shuttle services and a future bikeshare station.
