christopher provided surveying services to Clark Construction for The City Market at O. This project is a luxury mixed-use apartment development located in the heart of Washington DC’s historic Shaw neighborhood.
The O, as it is called, is a mixture of old and new with the façade of the historic O Street Market remaining as a gateway to the new modern and hip apartments. The one million square-foot urban landfill project covers two city blocks. Developments include 550 luxury rental apartments, 90 affordable senior rental units, 182 Cambria Suites hotel rooms and nearly 90,000 square feet of retail space, anchored by a Giant Food Store. The development features rooftop amenities including an infinity pool, dog park, lounge and fire pits.
In October of 2015, The City Market at O won the ULI Global Award for Excellence. The award is given to only 10 projects worldwide each year. It recognizes projects that contribute to their communities, show leadership and innovation, incorporate public/private partnerships, and respond to societal needs. City Market at O met these criteria by demonstrating high-quality, innovative and thoughtful design at each stage of the project.
