“Corporate Social Responsibility” is a term used by many companies to describe what has always been at the heart of christopher. Our efforts to improve our communities are considered our Core Values. Let us tell you about them.
Our DE&I Task Force

christopher’s DE&I Task Force was initiated to directly impact people’s lives. We have a legacy of exceptional community outreach but our DE&I Task Force made it clearly defined and intentionally focused. Our strategic efforts include providing educational support for aspiring engineers, volunteering in our communities, mentoring students and young professionals and supporting and encouraging every unique employee perspective through our Employee Resource Groups (ERGs). We are working toward a more diverse and inclusive company and ultimately a more diverse and inclusive CRE/AEC industry.

The christopher consultants Civil Engineering Scholarship

A Civil Engineering Scholarship Fund was recently established to give a graduate of Unity Reed High School (Manassas, VA) the opportunity to attend their choice of 4-year accredited university in pursuit of a degree in civil engineering or a related field. We want to make engineering a realistic field of study for students who may have thought it was out of reach financially. Funded by christopher consultants ltd., its employees, friends and business partners and facilitated by the Community Foundation for Northern Virginia, this scholarship fund is part of an ongoing effort to bring unity through diversity and inclusion to the field of Civil Engineering. Donate or Apply.

Volunteering – Engineering Change

From backpack drives to preschool visits, christopher employees are encouraged to be involved in their communities through volunteer efforts. We like to think of ourselves as “Engineering Change” when taking action to improve our communities. Industry organizations are helpful in focusing our efforts, and our engineers are active in many including CREW, NAIOP, WBI and NVBIA. We have even developed our own charity events including christopher’s 5k for breast cancer research.

Teaching and Mentoring – Leading by Example

Helping a student or young professional reach their educational and career goals is another way our employees give back to the community. We have ongoing relationships with several schools including: Grymes Memorial School, Rock Ridge High School, Unity Reed High School, George Mason University and Virginia Tech. We invest heavily in teaching, training and mentoring through the Engineers and Surveyors Institute and VT’s Land Development & Design Initiative. Through consistent contact with students and young professionals – discussing project questions and provide career advice – we supply a support system of professional engineers who help guide those who will be building our future communities.
