Name: Jessica Harrison

Title: Risk Manager

Started at christopher: I started at christopher in July, 2010.  I sent Jeff Smith my resume every week for two months until he said I could come in for an interview!

Hometown: Front Royal, VA.

What was your very first job?: I was a farm hand! I chucked hay bales, ran the tractor, herded cattle and sheep, and dug hundreds of holes for one reason or another.

Favorite vacation destination: Anywhere that has mountains.

What energizes you outside of work?: All things outdoors. Reading a good book.

On Saturday you can find me: Riding dirt bikes, working on the homestead, in the garden, or getting lost in the woods with my cat.

What would be your last meal request? Grilled veggies from the garden.

What was your favorite project to work on and why? I have really enjoyed all the stream restoration projects I’ve worked on over the years.

What company event do you enjoy most? The fishing trip, even though Chad Backstrom got the largest fish award when mine was clearly bigger!

What is your favorite thing about working at christopher? The people for sure, but I also really appreciate the variety of work I’m involved in.

What is the best piece of advice you could offer someone considering a career in civil engineering/surveying/land planning?
