christopher consultants, ltd. is pleased to welcome Sylke Knuppel PE to the firm as Vice President of the Maryland Division.

Sylke’s extensive experience and passion for helping clients achieve the vision they have for their project will be key to our growth and expansion in Maryland while her extensive background in entitlements, project management, and planning and design will enable her to identify new projects and drive the growth of our Maryland portfolio.

With 20 years of experience in civil engineering, Sylke has a demonstrated ability to manage large mixed-use projects, consultant teams, prioritize effectively, and solve complex problems.  She is primarily focused on continuous improvement and growth with experience in designing and entitling new projects, opportunity site sourcing, initial yield studies, conceptual design, due diligence, public hearing meetings and testimony, cost estimating, and budget and cashflow preparation.

Sylke graduated from The Johns Hopkins University with both a BS and Masters degree in Civil Engineering and is working toward a Masters degree in Real Estate Development at the University of Maryland. Sylke is currently serving on the MBIA Executive Board and was a past Chair of the Montgomery County chapter.

She was a Member of the Board of the Black Rock Center for the Arts and she has volunteered at Habitat for Humanity (Metro Maryland) for nearly 3 years. Sylke lives in Shepherdstown with her wife and two cats and enjoys playing golf and biking in her spare time.
