Ronald Villatoros Ortiz, Jr
The 2021 recipient of christopher consultants’ Scholarship For Aspiring Civil Engineers
A recent graduate of Unity Reed High School in Manassas, Virginia, Ronald will attend NVCC in the fall where he will begin his studies toward a degree in Civil Engineering with the goal of eventually transferring to GMU.

Ronald is a multifaceted young man: a dedicated student, the Secretary of the Spanish Honor Society, an orchestra member and full-time employee who achieved the title of Manager at his place of employment. He received the following great praise from his supervisor,
“[Ronald] works 40 hours a week and goes to school. The happiness and hospitality that he gives to the guest is beyond exceptional, one of his greatest assets. Very driven, outgoing and determined. Anyone that gets a chance to have Ronald on their team will be delighted at the effort and energy he will bring.”
The scholarship selection committee, a combination of christopher consultants’ employees, representatives of Unity Reed High School and representatives of the Community Fund for Northern Virginia, was impressed with his strong work ethic. Kevin Washington, a member of the committee and VP of our Urban Land Division said,
“Ronald provided thoughtful responses to the questions we asked him and was very poised. He understands the commitments needed to maintain his GPA in college while juggling work. It is important to him that he gets a college degree. He will be the first in his immediate family. You can tell he is a genuine and honest person from talking with him.”
Ronald’s graduation on June 8th was held at Jiffy Lube Live and was a meaningful event, marking the first milestone in his quest for education. He was surrounded by family, friends and teachers who are all eager to see Ronald continue to grow and capitalize on this well-deserved opportunity. When answering a question regarding leadership on his scholarship application, Ronald said,
“As a leader I want to guide my team on a very successful path, where we all grow and learn,
but overall we have fun and enjoy our hard work and dedication.”
