On Wednesday, October 28, Governor Northam signed the Site Plan Extension Bill (SB 5106) to address extension of approvals to address the COVID-19 pandemic.
Under this bill, subdivision plats, recorded plats, final site plans, special exceptions, special use permits, conditional use permits and rezonings that are outstanding as of July 1, 2020, shall remain valid until July 1, 2022.

This was a concerted effort between the Home Builders Association of Virginia (HBAV) and the Virginia Association of Commercial Real Estate (VACRE). A special thank you goes to Senator Lynwood Lewis who introduced the bill at the team’s request.
